Taxis
There are 2 main taxi points.
It is easy to find taxi walking in the village
From Tulum To Cancun Airport or Hotel Zone

* Pre Arranged Round Trip Transfers for 1-2 passengers - $170 - $250
Bus
There are 2 bus points in Tulum. One near the Pemex Station and the other in Town.
Both provide first & second class buses to many destinations in the country such as: Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Chetumal,
Merida, Valladolid, Cobá, Mexico City, Palenque, etc.
With ADO Bus, (the station is in the center of town)
From Tulum
to Playa del Carmen, every half hour in the morning starting at 8:30 am. 2:30 pm and 7:00 pm, between $23-28 pesos per person.
To Cancun, every half hour in the morning starting at 8:30 am.
To Merida 2:30 pm $121 pesos.
Bacalar/Chetumal 6:15, am 9:15, 11:15, 1;15 pm 2:15, 4:15, 6:15 pm, around $76-89 pesos.
To Coba 8:30 am, 2:30 pm, around $22 pesos.
To Palenque 4:15 pm, around $290 pesos.
To Valladolid 7 am, 10:15, 11:00, 6:00 pm, around $40 pesos.
Riviera Bus (runs hourly from Cancun, comfortable and Air conditioned)
to Playa del Carmen directly from the Airport.
From Playa del Carmen, you can take either a first- or second-class bus to the Tulum pueblo (about $3.50 USD. per person, two or more hours).
Other:
For trips of short distances you can also often take a "combi"
or "Collectivo" Van transfers from Tulum to Playa del Carmen, and from Playa del Carmen To Cancun (a local small bus).

CITY SERVICES:
MAIL: The Post Office is located on the main avenue. Telegraphs are behind the baseball court.
POLICE:The Police station as well as the library, the Mayor's office and the office of tourist information are located beside the baseball field.

ELECTRICITY:
The electricity standard is 110 volt AC, the same as in the US and Canada.
Most of the hotels do not have three prong outlets so bring an adaptor.
Brownouts and blackouts are not uncommon in the town, particularly after a heavy rainstorm.
Just go with the flow, light a candle and the electricity will soon return.
