Sea Turtles
Several endangered sea turtle species have chosen the tranquil Mexican Caribbean beaches to lay their eggs.
They prefer unlighted, serene places, and like the warmth of powdery white sand found in certain areas of the Riviera Maya.
There are several places along the Riviera Maya officially declared Sea Turtle Sanctuaries, such as Tulum, Xcacel or Xcacelito.
Here you can see the Green and Caguama (Caretta caretta or Loggerhead) species of sea turtles lay their eggs during nesting season (May to October).
The eggs are laid at night, when the female sea turtles emerge from the sea and search for a place on the beach to make their nests.
After laying their eggs, they cover their nests carefully and return to the water.
The baby sea turtles are born at night and are guided to the ocean by the light of the moon and stars and the natural iridescence of the Caribbean.
Sea turtles are endangered species, so it is forbidden to catch them or to take their eggs.

Swimming with Dolphin
Several locations along the Riviera Maya have been carefully designed and are run professionally and dedicatedly to offer you a unique opportunity to swim with dolphins!
Experience the joy of a dolphin kiss, marvel at the dolphin's strength as you are towed through the water by their dorsal fins, and fall in love with their gentleness as you cradle a dolphin in your arms.
Then put on your mask and snorkel to get an incredible view of the dolphins as they speed and spiral swim through the water and demonstrate their amazing agility. Not to be missed...
